Please help me identify this piece

Postby Pieterva24 » Fri Jul 14, 2017 9:21 pm

Dear all,

While walking my dog I found the attached piece near Dieppe, France. I'm not at all certain but the thickness of it immediately made me think of the armor of a tank. There has been a landing at the beach during ww2 by canadian and british soldiers but so far I have not been able to identify the origin of the piece. Does anyone recognize this type of reinforcement of a bolt? Has it been used for tanks or is it just a part of a farming machine? I would love to know the details and maybe A suggestion what to do with it? Keep it or send it to a local archive/museum.
Thank you very much in advance!
Kind regards,

Pieter
