I was idly flicking through my WW2 databook the other day, and realised something rather interesting.
In all the war, only in the PTO and Eastern Front were Axis forces in-theatre consistently outnumbered.
In N. Africa, N.W. Europe, Burma, there was almost always parity or even an Axis advantage
Admittedly the data I have refers to the number of formations available rather than the actual manpower, but still.
Discussion on World War 2 in general.
