Mauser G98, 1906 dated, not mine, was loaned it for a lecture


SMLE No.1 Mk.3*, BSA 1929, refurbed a couple of times during it's life, once in the 30's

I want to get a pre 1940 one for my collection but they are hard to find here.
On the sporterized Enfield, Long Branch rifles had Long Branch on the left side of the reciever and all of the small parts will have a L over B stamped on them. Other Canadian parts (mainly the wood) had a C with arrow through it to denote Canadian ownership.
I can't recall exactly but there is something in the serial numbers on the wrist socket that was particular to each maker. C was used by Savage but I can't remember what my Long Branch had. I don't know what BSA or Fazakerly had either.
