Yes, except the AMX-13/90 which belongs to Military museum in Smrzovka and that T-72M4CZ belongs to the Czech Army of course (but as I said earlier, Lesany owns T-72M3CZ, which is prototype of M4CZ modification). Btw since the Lesany museum falls under Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, most of the ex-Czechoslovakian/Czech army stuff even doesn't need to have deactivated armament. Czech Army is also always participating in the events of the museum and therefore there are even some first public presentations of some of it's new equipment from time to time (this year, it was ambulance mod of Iveco LMV and Pandur II mod for Afghan mission).

Lesany are also not just about these 'Tank Days'. There are events at the beginning of every season as well. They are usually dedicated to other branches of ground equipment, like "Artillery day", "AAA day", "Tatra day", etc.

Thanks, they are great. Do I notice a Harley-Davidson WLA in with the Sherman?

On that note - if you have any pictures of trucks, motorbikes, in fact any vehicles from WW2 they would be appreciated. :)

Oh ok, for some reason, I thought that this forum is "Tank only" :) I appologize for the quality of some of these pics though. They have been taken back in 2006 with my old camera and the light conditions in the halls were(are) quite bad.

Well that's it for the WWII cars, I guess. There's much more in the museum of course, but I just didn't take a picture of them, yet. As I said, I have to do a proper tour next year :)

Knowing how difficult it is to take photographs inside museums, I think you've done a great job with these!

What's up with the pink JS-2, by the way?

Well, this tank was part of the Prague's monument of Liberation of Czechoslovakia in '45. But after the occupation of our country by Soviet forces in 1968 for a lot of people it rather represented a reminder of these sad events in the following years. So after Velvet revolution in 1989 it was taken as a relic of the communist era. So in 1991 a young artist David Cerny demonstratively painted the tank in pink color. A big public discussions followed, many people still saw this as a dishonour of liberation Soviet forces in '45 and so. Three days later it was painted back in green by an army, then again painted pink by supporters of David Cerny. After that, the tank has been dismanted from the monument and taken to the museum (where the pink was restored in 2000 btw).

That's quite an interesting story for a tank - thanks for the link!

Not really a 'Tank Day' related, but one of the museum's M36B2 Jackon's has got it's 'WWII look' again after it's restoration. Only the original T-34's engine (which all the Yugo Jackson's has got during their modernizations) has been changed for the engine from T-55 tank, so you can imagine how fast can this beauty run now :D

Some great news, museum managed to get, after 7 years of negotiations, Praga LTP light tank (or Tanque 38/39 ) which is basically one of the export versions of LT vz.38 / PzKpfw 38(t), this one for Peru. It should be on it's way to the museum already, coming at the end of September :)

Another great news is that during this forthcoming autumn, restoration of IS-2 early model (model 1943) is gonna be started.

Also in two weeks there's another 'Tank Day' event, this time related to WWII armory, so you can bet I'm gonna show you some fresh pics again, cheers :)
