Attention Christian please

Postby David W » Sun May 10, 2015 5:57 am

Christian.

Was it my imagination, or were you in collaboration with a co-author, trying to produce a definitive WWII armoured car encyclopaedia?

If I am not going mad, how is that project progressing?

Best wishes,

David.

I must assume that Christian no longer frequents this forum?

ST was kind enough to inform me of this thread.

Sadly, the answer is no. David Doyle published a new encyclopedia a few years ago (Amazon link below) that improved significantly on the old one by Chamberlain, Doyle, and Jentz, though it still has some limitations. I honestly think that a monograph will never be able to be as accurate as we would like it to be. The amount of raw data that has to be collected and checked, combined with the relatively limited retail price that such an intro-level book would be able to sell for, will always make it very prone to both factual and typographical errors.

OK. Thanks. Perhaps I just imagined it.
