Well, I'm definately not entering. I kinda rushed my kit, and have ended up with wonky wings and a pilot who appears to have been painted by a 5 year old.
I was still gonna go ahead, until I dry-fitted the canopy and discovered that it didn't fit over the pilot's head! At that point I gave up.

Just drop the pilot then. If he looks like he's been painted by a five year old (your words ;) ) he probably don't add anything to the kit anyway.

I'm out.I have nothing in the stash and the closest hobby shop (15 miles away) had only one way overpriced 1/72 kit that fit the bill.

I have one, but we can give it a few more days as far as I'm concerned. One entry isn't much of a group build, allthough I would win ... hmm.

Sadly he is already firmly glued into the chair, which is firmly glued into the plane.

Ricky, you might want to try some force. Not the force, but some. You'll be amazed how easily "firmly glued" parts come off sometimes.

Sadly:

1) the pilot is secrured to the chair by a long plastic pin coming from his rear and through the chair
2) the pilot is wider than the cockpit opening

I toyed with the idea of just having the canopy open, but as I made the kit straight from the box (without adding detail in the cockpit) it will look a bit naff. Plus the cockpit glass is incredibly thick. If I get a free evening soon I might do this anyway, but don't hold up the Build for me.

Ho hum.

Schmo Schmum!

Some surgical removal is in order then. Just do what I would have done, dig him out with a sharp knife.

Why don't we just set a new date? What about March 15? That should give people a chance both to finish and start a new kit if they want to. It would be a shame if we couldn't pull this through.

Here's an idea. Since BoB took place in a summer of 1940 why not have the BoB group build finish up on the last day of the 2010 BoB anniversary?

It will give us all enough time to work on (or restart) our stuff. I know I made several blunders considering it's been many years since I built and painted a display aircraft.
