Online Modeling References

Postby Hoosier » Wed Jul 31, 2013 1:29 am

Every now and then I come across a website I like enough to bookmark. Like Sturmtiger, I build... or have built a wide variety of subjects.
Here's a couple I've been enjoying as of late. The first being an armor/softskin vehicles. Check the listing of subjects down the right side... many show a step-by-step build-up.
Dude has some definite talent...
Say SturmTiger, notice that I linked a Sherman IC Firefly with 60lb rockets of the Coldstream Guards! (Remember those rockets you sent me? Now I'm inspired!)

Here's a great site for illustrations and detail studies of WW2, Korea, and Vietnam to the present-day aircraft.

Anybody else care to post-up some of their favorites?

The first article mentions a British Challenger as one of the tanks that replaced the Fireflys.I must confess that I am completely unfamiliar with that one.

The Challenger was a lengthened Cromwell hull (with an extra roadwheel) with a bigger turret holding a 17pdr.

With only 200 built,it's no wonder I'm unfamiliar with it.

ST:
This is from the same website I linked on the Firefly... I'm not sure if you saw this entry or read the text on the FIrefly.
The A30 Challenger:

Great photos of the build and the finished subject.
