The 5th SS was the one I was looking for but there were others that could be argued. The 5th SS Wiking had many of its recruits from Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway just to name a few.

Right the first time! Apparently most Allied adn Soviet troops didn't bother with nicities of the uniforms by looking for the pink(!) piping of the panzerwaffen or the SS runes to distingush them.

What SS General was an acquaintance (friend?) of Polish General Bor-Komorowski (led the Warsaw uprising) prior to WWII and might have helped spare his life after his surrender in Warsaw.

Nope not Sepp.

I do believe the man we are looking for has a brother who was also an officer in the SS.

*Hint* they met in similair conditions that Bor-Komorowski and Lt. Geneal Hans Källner.

Actually Komorowski did surrender to Källner in Warsaw at the end of the rising; they were rather surprised to meet at that occasion (unrelation but incase anyone was interested).


I no longer remember who was the last SS General to die so... that question I throw out but the other question still stands.

The man was none other than Otto Fegelein. He had met Komorowski in the 1930s during horse competitions.
