I can`t say that it is on grounds that I don`t think the brits did use that kind of clasification at the time.

Pika of all men, I thought you would know that caliber is the length of a barrel in relation to the diameter of a shell, like the Bofors 40\L60 :D Sorry, could not help myself. No, no 2 pounder
