Bookstore suggestions

Postby Ricky » Mon Sep 01, 2008 11:24 am

How about a topic to suggest books to add to the bookstore?

I'd say that "British & American Tanks of WWII" by Chamberlain & Eliis would be a good addition.

Good suggestion. I'll try to do the updates on a regular basis, possibly along with the website updates.

I just realized that there are no book reviews here. Granted, books can be recommended, but where's the justification for the recommendation? Just a thought, but if there was a spot where members could post reviews (not just on armor/armour, either!), it might help people find good reading?

I like the idea. If there's a general interest in a review section, I'll be happy to start one.

Didn't we have one in the Library? I wrote a few reviews...

Those were unfortunately on the old forum, which seems to have disappeared.

Regarding the Encyclopedia: While it's certainly a decent book for getting a good first glance at German armored vehicles, it does show its age. I would suggest the following book for you:

I just finished reading "The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors" by James D. Hornfischer
It's the story of "Taffy 3" taking on the Imperial Japanese Navy at Leyte Gulf. An incredible story of brave men facing impossible odds.
